Selected as an Obama Leader by the Obama Foundation
The Leaders program identifies emerging leaders working in government, civil society, and the private sector who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the common good. It aims to build a growing network of innovative and values-based changemakers who seek to drive change in their communities while developing and supporting one another. Through a core set of shared values and leadership skills, the program seeks to lift up a new generation of civically active, positive role models who are prepared to create tangible solutions to the challenges in their communities, countries, and the world.
“In the world in which we live, I was unable to dream that a leader could make me feel powerful. I was proven wrong yesterday— President Barack Obama can, and he did.
📣 He shared in his speech: "I want to underscore — I’m probably not going to be the main driver of solutions at this stage. Because we need to build democracy for the future, not the past."
💪 He is right. I am part of those 60 Obama leaders working on rebuilding our democracies for the future. These leaders give me HOPE!
🧠 I still have a lot to reflect upon and unpack from what I learned over the past 4 days in-person.
🪔 What I am sure of — I will continue my fight to ensure our built environment will be dignified for all.
Thank you, Obama Foundation, for building hope by bringing Obama leaders together and supporting their fight.”- Sameera Chukkapalli Holmes
